Road accidents down
According to new information released by the General Traffic Department (DGT) November saw the least road deaths in Spain since records began.

21.12.2007 - Last month 174 were killed in 156 fatal accidents.  In the past eleven months of the year total deaths were recorded at 2,556, while in 2006 the number was 3,016 when compared to the same period.

Alfredo Perez Rubalcuba, the interior minister has predicted that the year will end with fewer than 3,000 deaths. Since records began 21 years ago August 1989 has the highest death toll when 758 people were killed in 596 fatal accidents.  That year the fatality rate on average was 16 per day.
