At the height of the controversy, not just over the ban but the wisdom of allowing the girls to dress as ‘gothics’ for a meeting with the Obamas, a Facebook entry allegedly by the PP’s youth wing here reproduced the picture with a caption “Now we know why Zapatero is so keen on making abortion easier. Some things could have been avoided!”, in reference to the appearance of the bulky teenagers. Hours after the posting emerged on Internet, a spokesperson for the PP said the website had been hijacked by a hacker and the comments had not been made by young members of the party.
