Spain03.03.2008 - The Academy didn’t let us down – the most eagerly awaited Oscar night in years in Spain finally arrived and much to the joy and delight of Javier Bardem, his parents and family, friends, and practically the whole of the Spanish speaking world, his acting brilliance was awarded with an Oscar. Though he might have thanked the Coen brothers for insisting on putting “one of the most horrible haircuts in history over my head”, Bardem’s Oscar for best supporting actor as Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men was as well deserved as it was expected, and is just the latest in a long string of prizes and accolades for a much lauded performance. more...
