 News from the financial sectors in Spain and the Canary Islands In Brief > Poor chocolate quality Leading European chocolate producers are predicting that the quality of chocolate will become poorer, but the prices of it are set to rise. Belgian chocolatier Galler recently increased their prices by 10 per cent. Justice Galler said, “In the long term we are heading for scarcity and even higher prices.” Patrick de Maeseneire of Swiss company Barry Callebaut said that he expected prices to rise by 12 to 15 per cent this month alone and that to increase cocoa bean production was easier said than done.
