24.05.2014 - The local Chamber of Commerce says the level of taxes at regional and national level remains “much too high” and is strangling business, preventing firms from considering expansion of any kind, however small.

Chamber president José Luis García also called on banks to relax their reluctance to grant loans to businesses.  García made the pleas in a press release on the latest unemployment figures for the Canaries, in which he welcomed the positive trend but warned that the tourism industry cannot continue to bear all the responsibility for job creation in the Canaries.
