Proper disposal of domestic oils is just as important
TenerifeArona - 24.11.2007 - The Arona councils environmental department led by Antonio Sosa is considering the possibility of signing a working agreement with a company authorised to collect used cooking oils, a service which would be provided free of charge.
Antonio Sosa explained that, this action would deal with the need to comply with current laws relating to the disposal of used cooking oils (mainly involving establishments such as bars, restaurants, cafs and hotels).

Concert in the wind?
TenerifeCosta Adeje - 24.11.2007 - Sun Live Festival Canarias production company have announced that Elton John will be appearing in the south of the island on 24 January, but there would still appear to be some doubts hanging over the event.

Regular readers of this newspaper are aware of the on/off arrangement with the Santa Cruz council and Rolo productions to hold the concert, resulting in two different dates and two different venues being announced by the now egg-on-face, conservative councillor ngel Llanos. Members of the local CCN nationalist party have even called for Llanos resignation over the matter as he assured the members of the council during a council meeting that Elton John was under contract to perform in the capital. This would seem not to have been the case.

Tenerife24.11.2007 - The tinerfean councillor for tourism, Jos Manuel Bermdez, has confirmed that the island council will be backing the K9 concert with Tony Christie at the Magma Arts and Congress Centre.

Much more work needs to be done to improve the roads throughout the Arona borough
TenerifeArona - 24.11.2007 - The atrocious state of the roads in the district of Arona has once again come up for discussion.
The mayor, Jos Alberto Gonzlez Revern and Aronas councillor for roads, Antonio Miguel Garca Marichal recently met with the island councils counterpart, Vicenta Daz Sez to analyse a study which had been undertaken regarding the districts roads and their safety at the request of the island council. It is hoped that the proposals can be included in the island councils plans once their budget has been set for the next few years.
