04.02.2010 - The awards, given annu­ally to clients world wide who have returned to South Tenerife to holiday time and time again, saw visitors from the UK, Germany, Italy and Belgium thanked by Adeje’s mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga and CIT Sur president María Nieves Rosales Alonso and applauded by their fellow holiday makers.  These very welcome tourists have been coming back to Tenerife year after year, some, like young Colby Feely, since he was three weeks old!.

The top winners were in a league of their own, hav­ing each been holidaying in Tenerife with their respective first spouses, subsequently being widowed, meeting here in Tenerife, and now holiday­ing regularly in the Hotel Vulcano.  Between them Mr Lane and Mrs Chambers have visited our shores 70 times!

Adeje’s mayor was very warm in his welcome to the guests, congratulating them on their wisdom in choossing the world’s best destination, with the best climate and the best people in the world, add­ing “please tell your friends”.  He was also more than happy to adopt the Belgian greeting of three kisses rather than the Spanish two, re-embracing at least on Belgian visitor to catch up on his kisses.   The President of CIT, the centre for tourism initiatives, told the gathered guests, “you are our best ambassadors...with the rest of Europe covered in snow and ice, here you are to enjoy not only the warmth of our climate but of our people too”, she added.

Given that this interna­tional group of guests have returned year after year (and generally more than once a year) to the same hotels as well as the destination, the hotels who look after them are also to be congratulated.
