The testing, carried out in professional laboratory conditions, took samples from eight of Adeje’s beaches.  In fact the waters and beaches are analysed on a regular basis through this period (from May to September).  The latest timeframe used for these results was the first half of June, where eight beaches were scrutinised with the results positive in all cases, and according to Adeje’s tourism councillor Miguel Ángel Santos the beaches in question are in perfect condition for the summer months of July and August, with a guarantee of healthy waters for bathers.

The beaches in question are La Caleta (Cabezo), El Varadero, La Enramada, El Puertito, Ajabo, El Pinque, Las Galgas and Las Salinas.  The councillor explained that the borough’s bigger beaches, Troya I and II and the El Duque were controlled directly by the department of health, but they too have been given the all clear in recent weeks, are in excellent condition for members of the public.

The analysis carried out takes into consideration meteorological conditions at the time of the simple collection, and looks for the presence of bacteria, colour, organic material, plastics, glass, wood, and also includes a visual inspection of the zone.
