Stylish by design, brilliant by nature - that’s how Renault describes its Megane Coupé Cabriolet.
Renault Megane Coupé Cabriolet
This glass-roofed cabriolet is a four-seater although there’s not much legroom in the rear, unless your passengers are short - or four-legged. There’s plenty of room in the front, and the large doors make access easy. It is available in various trim levels and with a choice of six petrol or diesel engines ranging from 1.5 to 2.0 litre, and gearboxes to suit all types of driving too – five or six-speed manual, or four-speed automatic.

01.09.2008 - Even the most basic model is air conditioned, and vehicles further up the range have leather seats and manual or automatic climate control giving an ideal temperature with the roof open or closed.  An excellent four-speaker audio system with six-CD changer, MP3 player and RDS radio is available with 15 or 40 watt output.  Electrically operated front and rear windows open or close simultaneously whenever the high security glass roof is opened or closed, which takes only 22 seconds.  The roof is in two pieces and folds neatly into the boot (at the same time reducing luggage space – but a small price to pay for wind-in-the hair open-road excitement!)  A blind helps if the sun is too bright. Other innovative features include an aircraft-type handbrake lever, a petrol tank flap with integrated fuel cap and a valve which disappears when you introduce the fuel hose, helping to avoid the risk of spilling fuel or losing the fuel cap, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, and a rear parking sensor available on most models.  The Renault hands-free card is detected by the vehicle as you approach and the doors, boot and fuel cap open automatically without the need to even take the card out of your bag or pocket.  To start the engine, all you have to do is push the Start button.  To secure the vehicle, touch a handle, the boot button or the card.  Alternatively, the Renault remote control card allows you by just pushing a button, to open and close the doors.  Introduce the card into the reader and you can start the engine by pushing the Start button. The Megane has lots of interior storage space including a 17 litre glove box which if you have climate control, is refrigerated, and in the Cabriolet, it locks at the same time as the doors and boot.  Additionally, there is a six litre compartment beneath the central armrest, a closed compartment for small objects in each of the doors and open compartments in the rear.

This is the first vehicle in its category to obtain a five star rating in the Euro NCAP tests. For an extremely high standard of safety, comfort and design, the Megane Coupé Cabriolet is certainly worth consideration.
