Reviews and test drives
On an absolutely glorious summer’s day we found ourselves in Bridlington, on the UK’s east coast, for a gathering of American rod and custom cars.
An eye-catching custom Ford Popular 27.08.2014 - Hosted by the Yorkshire American Car Club, known pertinently as ‘YANCS’, the one-day show attracts exhibitors from across the country. From upsized 4x4s, through beautifully restored American classics to an itsy-bitsy Isle of Man Peel: the range, quality and beauty of the cars were impressive – not to mention the dedication of their owners.
Founding members of the club, Phil and Jackie Walker, have been running the show for the last 21 years. It’s a big job: the majority of the exhibitors spend the whole weekend camping on the site, and the evening’s cruise through the town attracted over 90 cars, not to mention large crowds lining the streets. YANCS also host two annual get-togethers at FortPaul, Yorkshire, with one coming up in September. See them on facebook at: yancsyorkshire or email:
