Arona food fair
The rain failed to keep away the dippers and tasters at the10th Canarian Food Fair held in Arona.

24.04.2014 - After the official opening by the Arona mayor José Francisco Niño, the large tent in the courtyard in front of the Casa del Mar in Los Cristianos quickly became packed, mainly with foreign visitors and residents.  The mayor was accompanied by local tourism councillor Évelin Santos and other local council colleagues as well as Miguel Antonio García from the Cabildo and the president of the hoteliers association (Ashotel) Jorge Marichal.

Almost 50 artisan producers of food and wine from all over the Canaries were present at the fair and there was no shortage of wine, cheeses, honey, bread, sweets and cakes and the Islands mojo sauces etc.  Folklore groups delighted the visitors with typical Canarian music.

Santos explained, “The Canarian Food Fair has been consolidated over the years as a flagship promotional event,” and she assured that, “We will continue investing in the promotion of the gastronomic products typical to the Islands which are so desired by both tourists and residents”.
