Teide snow brings repeat fears
The first big snowfall of the winter on Mt Teide has produced impressive pictures but also fears of a repeat of the problems suffered exactly one year ago to the day, when scores of drivers had to be rescued after they became stranded in sub-zero temperatures up the mountain.

Tenerife - 05.02.2010 - As the week-end begins, thousands of locals and visitors are expected to make the trip up to see the spectacle of the snow-capped peak and the authorities have already urged caution due to past incidents. It is thought that traffic restrictions will be imposed later today or tomorrow to regulate the flow of vehicles heading up via La Esperanza and La Orotava. Photos of the white mountain feature in all the local papers this morning.
