Rainbow bridge
Paws in heaven
Our pets are only lent to us for a short time due to their average life expectancy, so it is reasonable to assume that most of us who own pets will have to face the death of at least one of our furry friends during our own lifetime. But where do they go when they die? Is there a pet heaven? These are questions that we need answers to at a time which can be devastating, especially if we have been extremely close to a particular animal.

24.11.2007 - One popular theory is that our beloved friends go to a place, somewhere between heaven and earth, called the Rainbow Bridge.

That there are green fields, running springs of water to drink from, lots of mice to catch, catnip, birds flying around, tuna to eat, that they all run and play happily in the sunshine and each have their own white fluffy cloud to sleep on.  It is said that the animals who have been ill and old become well and youthful again, whole and strong, as they used to be in the days which now form our fondest memories.

They have everything that they want, except one their special human who they loved so much and were forced to leave behind on earth.

The theory goes on to say that our pets wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge, so that when it is our time to leave this earthly plane, they will be there to meet and greet us, and then hand in paw, we can cross the Rainbow Bridge into heaven together, never to be apart again. We hope that this provides a little comfort if you have recently lost your pet.
