Dubbed ‘BraveDad’ by locals, the man handed himself over to police shortly after attacking his daughter’s alleged abuser. Details of the bizarre case emerged during the trial of Oswaldo R. F., also from Arucas, who was charged with forcing the girl to perform oral sex on him. The girl’s father revealed in court that he had taken a kitchen knife and attacked his neighbour five days after his daughter suffered her ordeal. The man required major surgery for the stab wounds and has since partially lost the use of his right hand.
