Tenerife Basketball Club’s main supporters’ group had no dilemmas when it came to picking their pin-up girl for their advertising drive to attract other fans to take out a season ticket for this year.
- The die-hard fans of the newly-promoted side, which plays in the third tier of the Spanish league, opted for their most vociferous member, an elderly but sprightly lady who has been a permanent fixture at home games for years.
Silver-haired Luz Marina can always be seen in her front-row seat, from which she gives tireless encouragement to the players and occasionally remonstrates heatedly with the referees for dubious decisions. The Peña La 6 supporters club not only chose her to head the poster campaign for ticket sales but is preparing a deserved tribute to her for her loyal service to the team at the first home game next month.
