Oltra slams local critics

04.02.2010 - The under-pressure coach said recently that his colleagues on the mainland, not to mention the Spanish media, are full of praise for the playing style of Tenerife and attribute the side’s lowly position to bad luck. “The vibes I am getting from elsewhere are very positive and encouraging. People tell me we are a joy to watch and playing like we do we should have no problems staying up. What a contrast with what I hear in Tenerife, where it is gloom and doom at present” complained Oltra during a pre-game press conference.

Meanwhile striker Nino is convinced that Tenerife must remain faithful to their style and not try and change to a different system half-way through the season. “Switching now would be suicidal and we must persist with what we are doing, which will come good soon” insisted the forward. However, his remarks have done little to satisfy fans, who would rather the team won points by playing uglier football rather than hover dangerously close to the three relegation spots.
