While most August attention has focused on the arrival of new faces at CD Tenerife, including Honduras international defender Juan Carlos García and Argentinian striker Cristian García, the number of young players who have been farmed out to other clubs in Spain or who have packed their bags has not gone unnoticed.
Presenting the Garcias © Credit CD Tenerife28.08.2014 - In the space of just a few days, the club announced the departures on loan of midfielder Abel Suárez to La Roda from Division 2B and goalkeeper Angel Galván to Ferrol, also in 2B. Suárez’s departure can be considered something of a surprise as he had just signed an extension to his contract and was expected to figure more extensively in the first team this season. However, although naturally sad at being offloaded, he took the news of his loan to La Roda very well, insisting it would make him a better player. ´Keeper Galván is under contract until 2017 and spent last season out on loan at Getafe’s reserve side and fully expected to be away again this year. Two other young players, Nata and Jefté, have also packed their bags for the mainland in recent weeks after reaching the conclusion that opportunities for progress would be very limited.
