Many local ferreterias now stock plasterboard. Robert fixes it with ‘dot and dab’ (mortero adhesivo). Shop around though. Delivery costs can add a lot to the price, yet some places offer free delivery. When all the sheets are in place, apply a thin layer of gap cement (‘pasta para juntas de placas’) to the joints, followed by paper tape. Then apply another layer of gap cement over the top. Leave this until it is almost dry, then sponge over with a wet sponge. This gives a slightly textured finish, which matches the rest of the plasterboard. It takes three or four hours to set.
