Hi everyone
I’ve some sad news this edition - one of Tenerife’s residents passed away at the end of august.

Hi everyone

line
15.10.2013 - Peter Robinson was affectionately known as the Gentle Giant and truly was one of nature’s gentlemen.  In 2006 when he was on holiday in Malta, he met an Irish lady named Marie, (the Galway Girl) and they both confessed their love of walking and of ballroom dancing.  They extended their holiday for another month in order to get to know each other a little, decided it was a match made in heaven and have been together ever since.

They were in Galway this summer for a holiday, and were packing for their return to Tenerife the following morning.  When Peter didn’t come in for his tea from the garden, Marie went to find him, but sadly he had passed away in the half hour he’d been outside pottering and tidying up.

Peter was a keen bridge player, and in the week before his death, he’d come first and second in the two clubs he played at.  He was Marie’s star pupil, as he’d never played the game before they met.

We’d all like to pass on our condolences to Marie, who has returned to Tenerife to sort things out, and to send her our love.

There's a good reason to raise a glass of red wine to long life – because that’s exactly what it could deliver.  According to the Daily Mail, the popular tipple contains a “miracle ingredient” that could stop ageing in its tracks, researchers claim.

Red wine contains resveratrol, which is found in the grape skins and gives the wine its colour, and is reputed to reduce wrinkles dramatically.

Scientists have been combining high doses of resveratrol with minerals and vitamins to create a very effective anti-aging cream.  In fact, the manufacturers claim it can reduce wrinkles in just 28 days.

The cream goes on sale in Boots in October, priced at £39.99, and already there is a waiting list of more than 3,000 people.  The 30 ml cream is used in tandem with capsules of resveratrol and is said to target wrinkles from the inside out as well as topically with the cream.  The brand name is Prototype and the manufacturers Concept Health Care says it works by neutralizing or mopping up dangerous oxygen molecules, known as free radicals, that attack cells and are blamed for health problems and ageing.

Apparently both men and women are queuing up for this product. And with Christmas less than three months away, this might make a nice present.

Until next time, take care of yourselves, and especially of each other.
