Even conservative estimates put the total raised at today’s Amarilla Golf event for Tenerife based breast cancer, Ámate, at over €5,000.

18.09.2010 - Everyone involved pulled out all the stops to make the event as successful and financially rewarding for the charity as possible. The course was in superb condition, the weather was kind, organisation excellent, entertainment superb (live music and a spectacular Andalusian flamenco and dressage exhibition), the barbecue delicious and a good time was had by all, golfers and non-golfers alike. Thanks go to sponsors, Blevins Franks, Tenerife Property Shop, Tenerife Insurance Services, Iceland, Goodfellas Bar, Aqualux Spa & Pools, Canarias & British Aluminium, Lloyds TSB, Mercedes Benz, Southbeach Bar, Tenerife Golf Shop, Island Connections, Excellent Medical and Homes and Away, New Dimension and in particular joint sponsors and hosts, Amarilla Golf and their staff. Brian Gladwyn and Jim Burrows both made substantial personal donations and gifts for the auction and raffle were received from Ian Pickthorn, Blevins Franks, Mar Y Sol Hotel, Reserva Ambiental Hotel San Blas, Villa Cortés Hotel and Spa, Hotel Jardín Tecina (La Gomera), Hollywood Mirage Club, Air Europa, Bianca Restaurant – Los Cristianos, Santa Ana apartments (La Gomera), CIT Sur, Pirámides de Arona, Yellow Submarine, José Antonio Páris Fraga (official guide), Pueblo Chico, Banana Garden, Ocean’s Edge Restaurant, The Devon Arms and Summernails. Thanks also go to Coast Radio for their non-stop day long broadcast, all the volunteers including committee members and friends, the raffle and name the bear organisers, David and Jean Hill for taking care of most of the organisation, Ámate and their associates, Captain Mike Baker’s wife and the Legends of Darts stars Eric Bristow, Bob Anderson and last but by no means least the founder and inspiration for the golf charity day, John Lowe.
