7 islands challenge
Darío Dorta is fast acquiring a reputation for feats beyond the reach of most running mortals.

25.12.2013 - The endurance athlete has well and truly earned himself a long Christmas rest after completing a mammoth individual achievement which saw him run a total of 410 kilometres taking in all seven Canary Islands on consecutive days.  Dorta’s marathon was designed to raise money for cancer research and his presence on each island prompted a large turnout not just of well-wishers but also of other runners keen to help him on his way by joining him for long stretches of the gruelling challenge, during which he had to hop on planes and ferries at the end of each section rather than take time to recover.  The distance runner admitted that, of the 60 hours pounding the roads, Fuerteventura had been, “particular tough”, although he was closest to throwing in the towel as he made his way down from Teide to Santa Cruz via La Esperanza and La Laguna on the final day.
