Gooozy Travel
Choose a cruise
Maybe you are already a confirmed fan of cruise holidays, or are considering taking one for the first time – whichever way, Gooozy Travel can tailor a holiday to meet your needs, right down to the very last detail.

23.12.2013 - When Island Connections were invited to visit the Oceania Cruises’ ship, the Marina, when it docked in Santa Cruz we were delighted.

Gooozy Travel had arranged a guided tour for several interested customers, so one fine morning we found ourselves looking up at a fifteen storey luxurious floating hotel.  From the minute you board the Marina there is no question that this is a top class ship with the finest amenities.  We were met in the rather majestic foyer, complete with Lalique staircase, by our guide for the day, Carlos Ojeda.  He began the tour by taking us to one of the lounges for coffee and cakes: a fitting start as one of the main attractions of the company’s cruises is the quality of the onboard cuisine so, not surprisingly, the various restaurants featured highly.  Guests can choose between the Waves Grill and Terrace Café or the perfectly adorned Toscana or Polo Grill, as well as the exclusive La Reserve restaurant for enlightening wine and food pairings, and the two gourmet venues - Jacques and Red Ginger.   There is also the Privée private dining room which is a lush statement in white.  This is definitely a cruise for those who appreciate their food – there are even cooking classes with top chefs available.

It is hard not to be impressed by the stunning décor: the quality and variety of luxurious colours, designs, textures and lighting give each area its own personality.  There is also an abundance of fine art adorning the walls, and regular painting classes and art auctions during the cruises.  If that doesn’t appeal there is always the gym, spa or cosy library which just invites you to slip into one of the deep leather chairs.  There is also an outdoor swimming pool, a theatre and a casino.  Then, of course, there is the accommodation: a broad selection of rooms and suites to choose from, all excellently appointed.

To end the tour we were invited to eat in the appropriately named Grand Dining Room which not only gave us the chance to experience the cuisine ourselves (think caviar, slow-cooked, tender meats, melt-in-the-mouth fish and a range of delicious desserts) but also to chat to some of our fellow visitors.

Peter and Carola from The Property Gallery, Puerto Colon, were taking the tour out of interest as they had already reserved a Gooozy cruise with one of the Marina’s sister ships.  They booked with Gooozy because of the complete service that Tina, head of the company, can offer.  Full of praise for this one woman dynamo, both Peter and Carola agreed that one of the attractions is the convenience.  Tina had literally taken care of every detail of their upcoming holiday – from accommodation and flights, to transport to and from airports and ships.  It’s the sort of individualised service that Tina specialises in and does so well.

After the leisurely lunch it was time to leave the Marina behind, it has been an incredible experience and it certainly makes us consider a cruise.  If you would like more information see: www.gooozy.com, visit Gooozy on Avenida Rafael Puig, Playa de Las Américas, or call: 922 794 803 /638 434 126.
