Sixth soldier arrested over Lanzarote brawl
A sixth British soldier has appeared in court in Arrecife in connection with Saturday's trouble at a Costa Teguise restaurant. The soldier was arrested last night on the island following appearances in court by five colleagues.

Lanzarote - 09.02.2010 - Customers and staff injured in the brawl allegedly started the soldiers said they feared for their lives as they were beaten up by highly-trained 'killing machines'. The soldiers, believed to be on a surfing holiday on the island, face charges of serious assault and criminal damage after the incident in Costa Teguise's Vaca Loca restaurant, which was packed with customers at the time, including young children. Staff and witnesses appeared in court yesterday to give their version of the incident, which was apparently triggered when one soldier tried to steal a bottle of wine. Several described the scenes as a 'well-coordinated military attack'. One of the customers hurt will require surgery to reconstruct his face. The Ministry of Defence has refused to comment on the case.
