German walker serious after fall

A German walker who was seriously injured in a hiking fall had to be airlifted to hospital yesterday.

Masca - 28.07.2010 - The emergency services say they received a call reporting that a walker had suffered a serious fall in the Masca ravine, which is very popular with hikers particularly foreign visitors. Due to the steep terrain, a helicopter had to be sent in to allow paramedics to reach the 48-year-old German and lift her to safety to Tenerife North Airport where an ambulance was on hand to take her to hospital.
