Callao Salvaje beach improvements begin
The formal commencement of long-awaited improvements to the beach at Callao Salvaje drew top politicians to the area yesterday evening, including the Spanish government's most senior official in the Canaries.
Callao Salvaje - 15.12.2010 - Carolina Darias joined Adeje mayor José Miguel Rodríguez and officials from the Department of Coasts for the symbolic laying of the first stone of the new project, which is expected to take 7 months and will cost 1.2 million euros. In all, some 15,000 square metres of the beach area will be renovated, including a new promenade and landscaped gardens. A subsequent phase will see a promenade connect Callao Salvaje and Playa Paraíso, according to the town hall.
