Tenerife - 25.02.2015 - The shortlist for the 2015 Sony World Photograph Awards was announced yesterday and it includes a remarkable picture taken by Díaz during his travels to the Far East. The photo shows former Vietnamese soldiers in military dress returning to the scene of one of the most famous battles of the war in the country over 40 years ago. Díaz snapped the ex-soldiers listening to an account of how Khe Sanh, an American base at the time, was besieged by North Vietnamese forces for almost an entire month. The picture is one of a collection by the Tenerife photographer currently on display in the Cultural Centre in Adeje until early May, all relating to his travels in south-east Asia. It has been shortlisted by Sony in the "People" category of its 2015 Awards, the winners of which will be revealed on 23 April. The competition attracted over 173,000 entries from 171 countries.
