14.02.2017 - Two persons were arrested in the first group. They are charged with 18 thefts from apartments.  Most of the thefts were committed between September and December last year, creating a lot of alarm among local residents and businessmen.  Six more people are being investigated for complicity, mainly because they provided the suspects with a hire car, making their identification difficult.

A third member of the gang, against whom a warrant had already been issued, admitted himself voluntarily to the Tenerife II prison.  Both the detainees and the possible accomplices are also accused, because of the characteristics of the group, of being members of a criminal organisation.  The investigations into this group led the police to another group, which mostly specialised in thefts from public facilities in the north of Tenerife, and was closely linked by family and friends to the first group.  These burglaries were always committed at night.  In this context, another person was arrested for his possible participation in ten burglaries.  At the time of the arrest, the alleged burglar was carrying a unique special tool in the boot of his vehicle.
