15.02.2017 - The event, in the presence of the president of Loro Parque company, Wolfgang Kiessling, who is a great art lover, and the president of the RoyalAcademy, Rosario Álvarez, was moderated by the Contemporary Art and Theory professor from the University of La Laguna, Fernando Castro Borrego and attended by around a hundred people.

The artist from Gran Canaria, who recently donated more than 6,000 of his works to the Canary Islands, is known for his surrealist style.  His professional career has passed through various stages including a time when he went through a picturesque and cinematographic phase, and another in which he dealt specifically with the subjects of the aborigines.  Pepe Dámaso, one of the great contemporary artists, maintained a deep friendship with the late artist César Manrique from Lanzarote.  Dámaso's works can be admired on the first floor of the hotel.
