21.04.2017 - The 73-year-old pensioner from El Puertito de Güímar runs regularly in the area, but on Tuesday he left his usual route and crashed into an abyss.  Civilians from Los Realejos, Candelaria, Arafo, Santa Cruz, El Rosario, Güimar and El Sauzal, as well as dogs from La Laguna had been searching for him, and were so happy to find him alive.  The man had suffered bruises and hypothermia, and was disoriented.  He was recovered from the Barranco by helicopter and flown to Güímar football pitch from where an ambulance took him to the university hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria.
