Dangerous criminal on the run
The Guardia Civil are seeking a 31-year-old man, José F.G.G., from Puerto de Santiago, known as El Volcán, who is considered highly dangerous. After being detained last Tuesday by Local Police officers from Adeje and Guardia Civil officers in Callao Salvaje, he was set free. The man probably went to El Puertito de Armeñime on Wednesday and set fire to his ex partner's caravan, in the area of Casas Baratas, a small caravan settlement where she lives. A wooden hut and two caravans went up in flames. Again El Volcán escaped.

21.04.2017 - Back at the end of July 2015, the criminal had been charged with attempted murder.  After an argument at the entrance to a well known after hours nightspot in Costa Adeje, he and another person who was driving his BMW intentionally knocked down four people.  They were intercepted by the National Police and were both aggressive towards the officers.  Last November, he and a young woman, stole jewellery worth €6,000 euros and €2,000 euros in cash from a house in El Tanque and made off in a stolen convertible car to Tierra del Trigo.  From there, they took a taxi to Icod de los Vinos where the Local Police arrested the young woman, but El Volcán managed to escape again.  A few days later he was arrested by the Guardia Civil in San Isidro after another car chase.  He is now on the run, and covers the whole island.
