More drownings in the Canaries
Only last weekend a dead German man was removed from the water at the Playa San Agustín in Gran Canaria, and already the numbers of drownings in the Canaries have risen to 52 this year. On Monday morning at 9.30am, a 79-year-old German woman was pulled out of the water at the beach of Mogán, in the south-west of Gran Canaria. A doctor and staff from the medical centre immediately began trying to resuscitate her on the beach. Later the emergency doctor took over with advanced technology, but in the end they could only confirm her death.
