The dance of the devils in Icod de los Vinos
On Sunday, in the streets of the Las Angustias district of Icod de los Vinos the devil and his partner danced. This tradition is fostered around Corpus Christi, and in this case it forms part of the celebration in honour of the patron saint la Virgen de Las Angustias. The dance of the devil and his partner symbolises the battle of the powers of hell against the archangel Michael. Her statue was accompanied by giants and a great atmosphere.

12.09.2017 - The statue of the Virgen de las Angustias came from Mexico to Tenerife. According to tradition, she fell from a boat into a river and was carried by the current out to the sea.  There she was discovered by the crew of a large boat who took her on board. During the passage to the Canary Islands there was a fire on the boat which was extinguished thanks to the prayers of the passengers and the crew to the Virgen.
