Three Germans in distress at sea
On Monday lunchtime an emergency call was received at the Canary Islands Emergency Centre, which reported men in distress off the beach at Playa de Bollullo in the borough of La Orotava. A 24-year-old man had made it back to the shore with the help of other swimmers. Two more 30-year-old Germans were rescued by an emergency helicopter. Both had already suffered a cardiac arrest.

17.10.2017 - The helicopter flew them to the port in Puerto de la Cruz, where an emergency team awaited the victims.  During the flight, the two men were treated with resuscitation techniques.  Emergency doctors with advanced resuscitation procedures took over at the port.  For over an hour they struggled in vain to bring the two men back to life.
