Man injured in the sea at Masca
An emergency rescue helicopter had to fly to Masca again on Monday afternoon to rescue an injured man. The foreigner whose nationality and age is unknown, had injured himself in the water this time, not in the gorge. About 200 metres from the coast, he hit himself so badly on a rock that he suffered a severe cervical neck injury.

18.10.2017 - Due to the severity of the injury, the rescue team decided not to take him to the jetty in Masca gorge, where a helicopter had landed, but to pull him into the helicopter on a stretcher directly from the sea and fly him to the helicopter landing site in Adeje. From there, he was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria in Santa Cruz.
