Heavy downpour in La Palma
La Palma's island council has closed the island network of hiking trails following the heavy rain in the last two days and has called on residents and visitors to exercise particular caution in traffic. A heavy rain warning was also issued yesterday. The San Antonio del Monte meteorological station near Garafía registered 218 litres of rain per square metre.

08.11.2017 - The borough of Garafía was particularly affected, where the road between Barlovento and Garafía had to be closed.  There were also landslides which temporarily made the access road to the Roque de los Muchachos via the LP-4, as well as roads at Jedey and El Remo impassable.
