Off duty police officer overpowered robbers
A police officer based in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, helped to prevent a robbery in the capital city of Las Palmas while he was off duty. The man saw a masked man in Calle León y Castillo threatening a British tourist with a screwdriver and snatching a camera from him before running away. As the officer chased him, he tried to get rid of the evidence, the camera, a screwdriver and a face mask by throwing them in a waste bin.
