Candidates for Carnival Queen
On Monday the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez and the Councillor for Fiestas, Gladis de León welcomed the 31 candidates who will compete for the title of Carnival Queen 2018. They are divided into three groups. Nine female candidates are competing to be the Children's Queen and nine to be the Senior Queen. There are 13 young women contestants for the Adult Carnival Queen title. On Friday evening at 9.30pm the carnival season officially opens at the Castillo Negro. Then the candidates will also find out in which order they will go on stage.
The election of Santa Cruz Carnival Queen 2018 will be celebrated in a gala hosted by Enrique Camacho on February 7 at 9.30pm. The children's queen will be elected on January 28 at 6pm, and the senior queen on January 31 at 5.30pm. All events take place at the Recinto Ferial.
