New watchtower at Playa Melenara
In Gran Canaria, a delegation from the borough of Telde, led by Mayor Carmen Hernández and the councillor for beaches Gloria Cabrera, recently inaugurated a new lifeguard watchtower at the Playa de Melenara. The blue flag has been flying at Playa de Melenara, the most visited beach in the area, for 17 years. The Telde council invested €18,000 in the tower, which consists of a glass-fibre-reinforced plastic frame with a viewing platform and a glazed cabin with technical instruments.

14.01.2018 - Among other things, defibrillators are present on all four main beaches of the borough. Two further reforms are scheduled to take place on this beach in the course of 2018.  The lighting of the coastal path between La Garita and Salinetas is to be replaced in the coming weeks. It is also planned to make the beach more accessible by means of a panoramic lift.
