Gran Canaria now has enough irrigation water for three months
The Gran Canaria island agricultural councillor, Miguel Hidalgo, drew a positive balance after the last bout of rainy weather. He explained that, "In the north and west of the island, the reservoirs filled up to such an extent that there is enough to supply irrigation water for more than three months. The ground has now absorbed it well, so that the next rains are likely to run smoothly into the reservoirs."

07.02.2018 - Then, he hopes, the water will also reach the south of the island, where the reservoirs have hardly filled up and where it is urgently needed.  Only in the Las Niñas reservoir did the water level rise by about 1.1 metres.  In view of the fact that it was practically empty before, it has hardly made an impression.
