Theft, illegal detention, threats and coercion
Two men and two women, aged between 30 and 33 years, have been arrested in Lanzarote's capital Arrecife for illegal detention, threats, coercion and theft. A young Romanian woman told the National Police that she had escaped from an apartment where she was being kept against her will by fellow countrymen. She had been recruited at the beginning of the year in Romania to supposedly look after two children aged eight months and twelve years.

09.02.2018 - The four had apartments in Arrecife and Órzola as well as several rental cars.  During searches, perfumes, bags, wallets, expensive mobile phones and tablets were seized, presumably stolen.  Further research revealed that the gang has already had a remarkable criminal career in Spain, which began in Palma de Mallorca in 2004 and extends from the Costa Brava to the Canary Islands.
