Arrest for animal cruelty in Gran Canaria
Officers from the Guardia Civil's environmental protection unit, Seprona, arrested a 39-year-old man from Vecindario in Gran Canaria at the end of February, who was suspected of having killed seven hunting dogs. The case was reported by a witness who brought evidence to the police in the form of photographs. They showed seven dead Podencos in a kennel.

A short time later they discovered three dog carcasses in the open air.  The suspected owner was arrested and he confessed during the interrogation.  He was charged with cruelty to animals.
