Marijuana farmer tried to confuse the police

Guardia Civil officers recently followed up a clue that marijuana was being cultivated in the Malpais of Güímar. They checked the data and found a small plantation. They lay in ambush until a 56-year-old man from Güímar appeared. At first, he thought the policemen were people who were targeting his plants. He called them names and made it clear that these were his plants. Only when he noticed that he was talking to the police did he take off his hat and scarf, with which he had partially covered his face.
He backtracked and said he didn't know who the plants belonged to, and when he was asked to identify himself, he tried to escape. The officers caught up with him within a few metres and arrested him. They seized 22 marijuana plants of different heights of between 15 centimetres and 1.20 metres.
