Rescue from an empty pool
The Santa Cruz fire department was called out on Tuesday at 1pm to rescue a person who injured herself falling into an empty pool. The accident happened on a property in Las Camelleras in Barranco Hondo in the borough of El Rosario. Neighbours had informed the emergency services and reported that the victim had fallen from a considerable height into a disused pool which was in poor condition and was not able to get out of the pool on her own. The fire brigade stabilised the injured person on a stretcher, lifted her out of the pool and handed her over to the ambulance crew. Guardia Civil officers were also present. It is not yet clear how the accident occurred.
