Two bathing accidents on Monday - one dead
Yesterday could be described as a black Monday, as emergency staff had to deploy twice to rescue people who had been pulled out of the water. The first incident occurred at 1.30pm on the Matagorda Beach in the borough of Tías in Lanzarote. A 60-year-old man was brought ashore by another swimmer with clear traces of drowning. Thanks to the rapid deployment of ambulances and advanced technology, the man who had suffered a cardiac arrest was brought back to life and taken to hospital.
