Collision between leisure boat and a ferry
Yesterday afternoon at 4.29pm a leisure boat loaded with diving gear rammed into a Naviera Armas ferry which had left Las Palmas and set course for Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Three people from the leisure boat fell into the water. The captain of the fast ferry decided to return to the port after three air chambers filled with water, and called the emergency services. An emergency helicopter and two lifeboats were sent to the scene and the three people, only slightly injured, were rescued from the sea.

line
09.11.2018 - False information had previously been given that there were more people in the water, and this was mainly due to the fact that several passengers on board the ferry had thrown life jackets into the sea.  The ferry returned to the Las Palmas port, and the passengers were transferred to another boat for their journey to Tenerife.
