Kayak in distress
On Friday afternoon about two nautical miles north of Corralejo, a kayak instructor and two foreign guests who had booked an excursion got into distress. They could not return to the shore on their own due to the strong waves. The excursion leader made an emergency call. Since the lifeboat was currently in Lanzarote and would have needed at least one hour to reach the kayak, they asked their colleagues from the Guardia Civil marine service for assistance.

12.11.2018 - The officers immediately left Corralejo in the patrol boat Orotava 5 and were able to bring all three people to the shore safely and in good health.  They were only somewhat disoriented due to the bad conditions.  On the shore they met the rest of the kayaking group who had finished the trip on their own.
