Resuscitation attempt on Montaña Roja
On Monday at around midday, the fire brigade from San Miguel de Abona had to go out on a life and death mission, which they unfortunately lost. On the Montaña Roja near El Médano, a foreign hiker had collapsed and was unconscious. The emergency call centre staff gave the callers instructions and found that the man had probably suffered a cardiac arrest. They were remotely instructed by the emergency team until they arrived.

13.11.2018 - The fire brigade fought their way to the scene as quickly as possible and worked closely with the crew of the emergency helicopter Helimer, who evacuated the man from the top of the mountain and took him down to the beach, where an emergency doctor was waiting for the patient.  But even he could not bring the man back to life, despite advanced resuscitation techniques.  His hike was fatal.
