La Gomera water network sabotaged
Pedro Dorta, the Valle Gran Rey councillor for works and services, has filed a complaint against unknown people after a sabotage of the borough's water network was discovered last Friday morning. Over 100 cubic metres of water were lost due to a large deliberate crack. The level in the reservoir dropped to the minimum. When the damage was noticed at 7am on Sunday morning, immediate corrective action was taken to limit the damage. This is not the first time that the water supply in the community has been manipulated during the night. In this case, the most densely populated part of La Calera was affected. There had been previous sabotage in the districts of Orijama and Charco de Conde.

07.02.2019 - These incidents may have been linked to several nocturnal bushfires that occurred a few months ago in the borough of El Altito.  They were also carried out in the darkness, putting the community at risk.  The forest area was cleaned up extensively, thus depriving the arsonist of his target area.  It is possible that the same perpetrator has now started to manipulate the water supply.  The Guardia Civil are investigating.
