Urgent search for an alternative to the airline Germania


La Palma's councillor for tourism Alicia Vanoostende stressed last week that the search for alternatives to the German airline Germania was in full swing. The bankruptcy of the holiday airline also surprised the representatives on the small green Canary Island. The Germans have the highest share of the holiday cake in La Palma. Regular flights connect the island with Berlin, Düsseldorf, Nuremberg, Hamburg and Bremen. "The bankruptcy of Germania means that we have six flights less each week to five German cities. Currently, three of these cities have an alternative option. From Berlin via Easyjet and from Hamburg and Düsseldorf via Condor. We are in direct contact with these and other companies in order to close the gap as quickly as possible," explained Vanoostende.
