Interview with Marco González, PSOE’s candidate for Mayor of Puerto de la Cruz
Part 2 of 4- Please tell us about your town project.

The socialist project for Puerto de la Cruz is based on three pillars which do all respond to the urgent change the public are strongly demanding.
The first one of these pillars is our idea of a transparent and close Town Council, with the involvement of citizens in all fields, as well as to speed up the municipal administrative procedures and management which is absolutely necessary. Through a more efficient Town Council we will gain the trust of companies, entrepreneurs and neighbours in order to stand by their side to make their dreams come true.
The second pillar is the configuration of a model of a more progressive, diverse, inclusive and modern town that is more committed to the preservation of our environment and more prepared to confront the major challenges facing us.
The third pillar is our town project, with an urban planning department approving the necessary plans and ordinances. One of the priorities is sustainability, with policies targeted at the preservation of the environment, such as the approval of a Sustainable Urban Development Strategy or the Smart City project, which will considerably contribute to achieving excellence in our tourist town. We will place the necessary emphasis on the pending building works, like Playa Jardín, Playa Martiánez, the Sports City we are committed to in order to turn it into an infrastructure of reference within the region and the regeneration of the major tourist areas.
